DESCRIPTION:

This excursion is definitely something special as we combine one of the most breathtaking sights of La Fortuna with a very authentic cultural experience. 

 

To begin, we will hike down 471 stairs, but let us tell you this... It is so worth it. Once we get to the bottom you will be able to witness the 75 meter high La Fortuna Waterfall. The cherry on the cake - you may actually take a swim in it - so do not forget your swim suit.

 

After you are now completely awake, we will make our way to the Eco Farm of Don Juan. Owned by a real Costa Rican farmer, Don Juan, just saying "Hola" and talking to this character is worth the tour! As soon as you arrive he will give you a tour of all the plantations and exotic fruits that you may have never seen in the supermarket before. You will learn how various fruits and herbs are used for cooking, health benefits or industrial uses.

 

Beside everything you will learn about the Costa Rican Farmer culture, the farm itself is an amazing habitat and home to some tropical birds and we might include a little bid of bird watching.

The farm also features a “trapiche”, so you will see first-hand the process of sugar cane into processed sugar cane liquor called: “guaro”. To end our day and adventure we will enjoy a healthy, organic and delicious lunch prepared by Don Juan’s wife, Yamileth. Pura Vida!
